Oro-myofunctional therapy OMFT
The shape of the mouth and position of the teeth and molars are largely determined by the muscular function in and around the mouth.
The balance between intra- and extra-oral muscles can be influenced by dysfunctional habits, like: faulty swallowing habits, mouth breathing, thumb sucking, finger sucking or lisping. Oro-myfunctional therapy (OMFT) is a form of functional therapy aimed at restoring the imbalance of the intra- and extra-oral muscles.
This site will provide information about OMFT. It also provides a webshop with materials and measuring instruments to improve the diagnosis and effectiveness of the oro-myofunctional therapy.
